After Two Weeks of Silence, Crow Campaign Renews Calls for Voter-Led Town Halls

Aurora – After winning the Democratic primary in Colorado’s 6th Congressional District two weeks ago, Jason Crow challenged Rep. Mike Coffman to three joint, non-partisan town halls – open to the public and free of pre-screened questions – between now and Election Day. Two weeks later, there has been no response from the Coffman campaign – or any other outreach to Team Crow about scheduling joint public appearances between the two candidates.

Coffman has not held a public town hall meeting for his constituents since February 20th. With congressional earnings set at $174,000 per year, he has earned nearly $72,500 since last making himself available to the voters who pay his salary.

Please attribute this statement to Mitch Schwartz, Communications Director for Jason Crow for Congress:

“This is pretty simple: voters are paying Mike Coffman’s salary, and they deserve to know what he’s up to – especially as he asks for their trust for another two years in Washington. We think joint, constituent-led town halls are a great way for both candidates to share their ideas and demonstrate how they’ll be accountable to taxpayers in office. We’re awaiting the Coffman campaign’s response, and we’re looking forward to getting these on the calendar.”
