Four Weeks Later, Coffman Continues to Dodge Voter-Led Town Hall Challenge
Aurora – Four weeks after Jason Crow challenged Rep. Mike Coffman to three joint, non-partisan, voted-led town halls, Coffman has failed to respond. Coffman, who has not held a public town hall meeting with his constituents since February 20th, continues to ignore Crow’s calls for candidate forums free of pre-screened questions – even as he falls behind in recent polls.
Since that time, Mike Coffman has taken hundreds of thousands of dollars from corporate PACs and special interest donors like the NRA and the anti-public education DeVos family. With congressional earnings set at $174,000 per year, he has earned over $73,000 since last making himself available to the voters who pay his salary.
Please attribute this statement to Mitch Schwartz, Communications Director for Jason Crow for Congress:
“Mike Coffman makes himself available to special interest donors like the DeVos family and the NRA when he accepts the cash that fuels his campaign. He tells anyone who will listen that he denounces Donald Trump – right before voting for Trump’s agenda. It looks like the only people Coffman doesn’t have time for are the voters.
“We continue to await the Coffman campaign’s response. We look forward to getting these town halls on the calendar.”
