First-Time Candidate Jason Crow Wins Commanding Primary Victory, Builds Momentum to Take On Mike Coffman

Aurora, CO– First-time candidate and former Army Ranger Jason Crow earned a commanding Democratic primary victory in Colorado’s 6th Congressional District tonight, setting up a general election challenge against career politician Rep. Mike Coffman. Crow told a gathering of family, friends and supporters that his focus is now on bringing servant leadership to the district.

“Coloradans are ready to turn the page on our political dysfunction and usher in a new era of servant leadership,” said Crow. “We’re sending Mike Coffman a message: we are done with politics as usual and we demand progress, not partisanship. And we’re going to bring that message to Washington in November.”

Colorado’s 6th Congressional District, which includes all of Aurora and parts of Centennial, Brighton, Highlands Ranch, and Littleton, will be among the most important districts in the country as Democrats attempt to retake the House of Representatives. Career politician Mike Coffman, who has voted with President Trump 95% of the time after promising to stand up to him, has represented the district since 2008.

Crow has made campaign finance reform a key part of his campaign. He has pledged, not to take a dime from corporate PACs – a sharp contrast with Coffman, who has taken almost $2 million over the course of his career. Crow has garnered widespread support for his call for servant leadership and his issue-based campaign to lower healthcare costs, take action on gun safety and fight for better wages.
