Jason Crow Statement on Donald Trump Revoking Critics’ Security Clearances
Aurora – Today, more than a dozen of our nation’s most respected security officials sent a letter formally backing former CIA Director John Brennan. Brennan, who has criticized President Trump’s outrageous behavior and immoral, counterproductive policies, was stripped of his security clearance for transparently political purposes.

“In the Army Rangers, I learned how important it is to listen to the experience and insight of our intelligence community. When the most respected members of that community – from both parties – speak with one voice against this president’s recklessness, we all have a duty to pay attention.
“Politicizing national security doesn’t make us any safer. It just makes Donald Trump feel better about himself. Only Congress can provide the kind of oversight that will hold this administration accountable, and Mike Coffman’s silence on this issue and his 96% pro-Trump voting record tell us that he doesn’t want that responsibility. It’s time to bring in a new generation of leaders who are willing to exercise it.”
