Jason Crow Statement on Donald Trump Rewarding Mike Coffman’s Campaign with Donations

Aurora – As McClatchy reported yesterday, President Donald Trump has donated $2,000 – the maximum amount allowed by law – to Rep. Mike Coffman’s campaign. Trump joins a long list of radical and unpopular Coffman donors, including the NRA, the DeVos family, and the Koch brothers.

Coffman has proven to be a reliable voice for the status quo in Washington. Last month, Coffman surpassed Rep. Scott Tipton as the most pro-Trump member of Colorado’s Congressional delegation. Coffman votes with Trump 95.6% of the time – more often than Tipton and his Republican colleagues from the Colorado delegation, Reps. Ken Buck and Doug Lamborn.

Please attribute this statement to Jason Crow:

“Coffman looked voters in the eye in 2016 and promised to stand up to Trump. But Coffman’s reward for supporting Trump’s status quo – to the tune of a 95% pro-Trump voting record – proves what we already know: that was one promise this career politician never intended to keep.”
