Jason Crow Statement on Pro-Coffman Super PAC Endangering National Security

Aurora – The New York Times reported last night that the Congressional Leadership Fund (CLF), a Paul Ryan-aligned super PAC, obtained an unredacted copy of a Virginia candidate’s national security clearance form – and used it for political purposes. CLF has also spent hundreds of thousands of dollars attacking former Army Ranger and Bronze Star recipient Jason Crow’s service record and work in his community, in an ad Fox 31 and 9NEWS have described as “false” and “misleading.”

Please attribute this statement to Jason Crow:

“The private document obtained is kept strictly confidential for a reason: it contains highly sensitive information about veterans and security officials that foreign adversaries can use against the United States. As someone who has proudly put on a uniform to defend our country overseas, I condemn this shameful attack that compromises our security for political gain.

“If Mike Coffman wants to run his campaign with integrity, then he must denounce this super PAC’s efforts on his behalf. This breach goes above politics. My opponent must prove he’s able to put country ahead of party by condemning this attack that endangers national security and puts service members at risk.”
