Jason Crow Statement on Two Year Anniversary of Mike Coffman’s Promise to Stand up to Trump

Aurora – Two years ago, Rep. Mike Coffman released an ad, “Country First,” in which he looked Colorado voters in the eye and promised to stand up to President Trump. “People ask me: what do you think about Trump? Honestly, I don’t care for him much,” said Coffman. “So if Donald Trump is president, I’ll stand up to him – plain and simple.”

Two years later, Mike Coffman votes with President Trump 95.6% of the time. His voting record is more pro-Trump than any other member of Colorado’s Congressional delegation, including Reps. Scott Tipton, Ken Buck, and Doug Lamborn.

Last week, Trump rewarded Coffman’s loyalty with a $2,000 donation to his campaign – the maximum allowable amount – and hinted at more donations to come.

Please attribute this statement to Jason Crow:

“Servant leadership means keeping your promises, plain and simple. Career politician Mike Coffman’s record under President Trump is clear – he votes to advance his agenda 96% of the time and is rewarded with his campaign cash. It’s time for a new generation of servant leaders on both sides of the aisle who will put Coloradans first.”
