Mike Coffman’s Latest Election-Year Pandering Comes After He’s Caught Going to the Right of Trump on Immigration

Aurora – It was just two weeks ago that Rep. Mike Coffman was caught behind closed doors parroting the same hardline immigration views as President Trump, even saying the President is too “generous” on DACA. Today, he’s trying to fool his constituents once again.

Coffman’s election-year change of heart comes after he claimed TPS was “a really bad idea from the start,” adding that it is “completely unrealistic.” And last month, he was caught telling supporters behind closed doors that he believes Donald Trump is too liberal on immigration.

Please attribute this statement to Mitch Schwartz, Communications Director for Jason Crow for Congress:

“Mike Coffman was caught parroting Donald Trump’s talking points on immigration just two weeks ago. Now he’s eager to distract from his 96% pro-Trump voting record – and his failure to pass comprehensive immigration reform. Coffman cannot be trusted to fight for Coloradans when he’s praising Trump behind closed doors. We need a new generation of leaders who will get results.”
