Rep. Mike Coffman Accepts More Campaign Cash from Anti-Public Education DeVos Family

Coffman Campaign Propped up by Trump Education Secretary’s Family As He Stays Silent on Radical Policies

Aurora – Rep. Mike Coffman accepted $27,000 in campaign contributions from the family of Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos, according to recent campaign filing reports. The Michigan-based family, which funds radical anti-public education efforts across the country, has now given Coffman nearly $40,000 in just three campaigns for Congress.

Despite the DeVos family’s support, career politician Coffman raised nearly $400,000 less than first-time candidate and Army Ranger Jason Crow during this past quarter. Crow, who has pledged to not accept a dime of corporate PAC money, raised 95% of those funds from individual donors.

Please attribute this statement to Mitch Schwartz, Communications Director for Jason Crow for Congress:

“Since the day she took the helm at the Department of Education, BetsyDeVos has run roughshod over our nation’s public schools while Mike Coffman has looked the other way. Now we know why. If 29-year politicians like Coffman won’t use their oversight power to hold Donald Trump’s administration accountable, then it’s time to bring in a new generation of leaders who will.”
