Six Weeks Still Not Long Enough for Coffman to Face Voter-Led Town Hall Challenge

Aurora – Upon winning the Democratic primary for Colorado’s 6th Congressional District six weeks ago, first-time candidate Jason Crow challenged Rep. Mike Coffman to a series of three joint, voter-led, non-partisan town halls – one in each county in the district. Coffman, who trails in the polls and has not faced voters in person at a town hall since February 20th, has refused to respond to the challenge.

In the months since his last town hall, Coffman has continued to receive donations from scandal-plagued politicians and donors, including groups aligned with Rep. Chris Collins, the DeVos family, the NRA, and President Trump himself.

Please attribute this statement to Mitch Schwartz, Communications Director for Jason Crow for Congress:

“Over and over again, Mike Coffman has proven to be more accountable to his shady campaign donors than to his constituents. His nearly unflinching commitment to maintaining the status quo in Trump’s Washington has been rewarded by those who benefit from it the most. Voters deserve the chance to ask him directly – not through a moderator or a list of pre-screened questions – to defend that record. And they deserve to hear Jason explain why his vision of leadership is different.

“Mike Coffman and his team know how to reach us. We look forward to hearing from them.”
