First-Time Candidate Jason Crow Leads Mike Coffman in First General Election Poll
Crow Up Two Points While Still Growing Name ID
Aurora, CO – Today, Jason Crow, an Army Ranger and first-time candidate in Colorado’s 6th Congressional District, released the first polling of the general election – showing him two points ahead of career politician Rep. Mike Coffman. This is the second poll of the cycle that shows Crow in the lead. Coffman did not trail in a publicly released poll in either of the previous two election cycles.
Crow leads the contest despite only being known by name to a quarter of voters in the district. He expands his lead to double digits when voters hear a short profile on each candidate.
For the first time since this district was drawn, more registered Democrats voted than registered Republicans in last month’s primary. More than 70% of independents chose to vote in the Democratic primary.
“This polling data confirms what I hear on the campaign trail every day: Coloradans are ready to usher in a new generation of servant leadership,” said Crow. “The time has come for representation that’s willing to stand up to Donald Trump and special interests. Taking corporate campaign cash and voting with Trump 95% of the time just won’t cut it anymore.”
Crow raised more than $1 million last quarter, outraising Coffman by nearly $400,000. On Saturday, over 250 volunteers braved scorching temperatures to canvass Aurora and tell their neighbors about Jason’s campaign.
